Profile:
Shri Devusinh Chauhan hails from Kheda District of Gujarat. He possesses educational qualification in Electrical Engineering. He also earned degree in Journalism and Mass Communications. He has undergone a course at King’s College, London. He started his career as an Engineer in Akashvani Kendra under Ministry of information and Broadcasting, where he worked for 13 years. Following his call of public service, he quit his well-paid and secured government job in 2002 to enter into public life to serve the masses, especially those who are at the bottom of socio-economic pyramid. Shri Devusinh Chauhan won Gujarat Legislative Assembly election from Matar constituency of Kheda District in 2007. He retained the same seat in year 2012. He entered the 16th Lok Sabha (Lower House) after winning the Lok Sabha constituency of Kheda in 2014. He has been re-elected from the same constituency in 2019 also. He has been inducted as the Minister of State for Communications in the Council of Ministers headed by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi on 8th July, 2021. The Ministry of Communications comprises of Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and Department of Posts (DoP). Shri Devusinh Chauhan has been instrumental in carrying out several telecommunications and postal reforms in DoT and DoP respectively.

Mission Karmayogi are some of the major citizen centric initiatives which have facilitated the ‘ease of doing business’ and ‘easy of living’ for industries and citizens of the country. Connecting the unconnected by providing fiber and 4G services in rural areas, providing the banking facilities through Department of Posts to every village, Insurance cover for shramiks and people belonging to lower strata of society and security of telecom network are some of the very important projects which have been undertaken by him. He has served as Member of Parliamentary Committee on Water Resources and Defence, Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Communications and IT and Ministry of Food Processing.
